thinking about ditching the $70 a month (I know - WTF?) home phone that barely gets used and moving to skype instead. Any thoughts? Not sure if I'd prefer a wifi phone or happy with one wired through the PC. We have plenty of minutes on the cellphones for US calls and skype is I think $9 a month worldwide to landlines..... _________________ Mojo is back |

| I use it to call my sister in Australia, seems pretty good for that, but I am not sure that I would make that my everyday phone. |

Simon - are they using tin cans and string on the other end? That may be the issue....
Everyday phone is my question: we use the home phone so rarely that I am not sure if it's even worth keeping without skype. More like an everyweek phone right now..... _________________ Mojo is back |

If you used your cell's as primary numbers would you reach $70 per month in overages? _________________ Why is there a "KIA" imprint on my ass? |

Prob not - but it's calling the UK that would bump that up from the cell.
Latest update is that I got a better deal on my existing home phone/net service from Verizon - a faster web service and phone for 12 months for less than it would have been if I'd canceled the phone..... So that + $5 a month for Skype is still a good bit less than I was paying before. _________________ Mojo is back |

| Get a crappy 5$ fone card for the international calls and just keep the cells. Alternatively, I think VOIP service through cable would cost you ~40 a month, and another 20 for unlimited international, so you definitely need some kind of change! |
