I compiled the time log into an Excel spreadsheet. Big thanks to all who've put lots of hours into the trails!

Dawson and Chris- please mention our volunteer totals at the Highbridge Operations meeting tomorrow. 372 hours so far in 2008 (and more to come before the end of the year).

For next year, we should consider a prize for top 3 workers/volunteers.

We definitely will. This year the person with the most JORBA paydirt hours won a bike from one of their supporting shops. The guy put in 170+ hours of trail work!

The only problem is that as we keep a running tally, some folks further down on the list may get discouraged and grow less apt to put in the time. One thing the JORBA folks did to combat that was to also do a separate Trail Maintenance raffle, where everyone who showed up for trail maintenance got a raffle ticket for every 4 hours of work they put in. The more you worked, the greater your chances of winning, but even those lower on the overall totals list still had a chance and something to work for. Their raffle prize was a $1500 mountain bike- pretty impressive.

Thanks to all for the time they've put in this year (and the time some will put in before this year is out). The trails thank you, NYC Parks thanks you, the riders thank you, and NYCMTB thanks you!

There are now time logs in the box.
I had intended them to be for new folks who don't log on or other non NYCMTB personell. Someone can voulintarily take the sheet when it's full of names and submit them HERE.
Trailbosses and savvy folks keep posting here on the regular? Question Idea

Cough cough. 5 hours for me too.

I also missed signing the sheet or here for a previous session - I think it was 4 hours back in March.

Pablo and I put in 3 hours of TM this morning completing our 10 hour team minimum. The trails were pretty clean from this weekend's clean up, so we cleaned 3 - 4 feet into the trail sides hauling out 2 bags of garbage. The spot behind the dugout in the baseball field is a real mess. We cleaned there a bit, but could have been there all day picking up gatorade bottles. We tried to building up a step up over the tree that fell over the last rain storm. It's now rideable in one direction but still needs some work. Overall, the trails are in excellent condition to ride today and should be great for this week.

1 1/2 hours this morning -Cleared glass, raked the trails and removed a well-place dead squirrel.
That's me done for a while, and it still amazes me that we have that resource so close. Having seen how far it's come in the last 3 years, I can't wait to see how it looks in another 3!
