We're still working out the fine print, but put it on your calendars now- Saturday, April 26th is going to be a day for mountain biking in NYC like we've never seen before. First off is our first-ever...

HUSTLE AND FLOW TEAM RELAY

It's a tag-team race consisting of teams of 5 people who race the clocks through the Highbridge trails. The start/finish line is at the corner of Harlem River Drive and Dyckman, near the base of the freeride trail and the base of the paved path. First leg is an XC climber who ascends Hessian Hill and loops through some of the XC trails before tagging off, second leg is a youth who'll do a lap of the pump track, third leg is a DH'er who takes the tag at the start ramp of the jump line, hits or rolls the jumps, then proceeds down the freeride trail to the bottom, fourth leg can be a roadie, crosser or mtber who climbs up the paved path as fast as humanly possible, then the fifth leg is a super-D trail rider who blasts back down Rough Ryder to the bottom. We're going to limit the field to 30 teams, and teams that can't find their own youth team member can "borrow" a youth from the youth clinic we'll be running that day at the dirt jump park. We'll also run a very limited solo open class for the folks who think they can do it all, but registration for solo class will be at our discretion and will be no more than 30 people. The race will be run time-trial-style, with starts every three minutes. Qualifying will be run in the morning to determine the finals race order in the afternoon. Entry fees will be a reasonable $60 per team or $30 per individual.

The idea here is to do a fun race that involves riders across the many styles of riding and really mixes things up.

We've got some good sponsors involved and there will be some nice prizes for the winners, but rather than doing the awards ceremony on-site, we're going to do it that night at...

THE NYC PREMIER OF THE NEW COLLECTIVE FILM "SEASONS."

We've been working on this for a while, and should have all the details done by the end of the week, so stay tuned for more info.

APRIL 26th- PUT IT ON YOUR CALENDARS NOW!

Very short. Estimated team/solo winning times should be in the 13-15 minute range, so skills are as important if not more important than endurance...
